Hmm..I wonder what is said about the movie biz… The funny thing about that quote is that it was sent to me by a friend who isn’t even in the music industry.

It's
all so damn non-linear. Sometimes living life really appears to be
completely random. It seems like there are people who just stumble upon
great things while others strive and strive only to just squeeze by
with minimal validation/rewards.
Opportunity
just kinda floats around out there like that monster poker hand some of
us dream of getting. Some of us do get those cards, some do not. Some
of us bluff to try and win and some just coast on great hands. Both
strategies are acceptable, though one does appear easier than the other
doesn't it?
No
matter what hand you get dealt, you still ultimately have to play the
hands to have a shot at winning. Sometimes that means you gotta play a
LOT and in some cases lose a lot.
Living
for your dreams is exactly like a gambling addiction. That “swing” will
eventually come your way, but you gotta hang in there. You sell
everything and borrow your family broke all biding on that one hope
that your luck will eventually change. Your ship will come in...

Well,
I figured I better write something already...I know, it has been a
while. Nonetheless, things are moving along very well these days. I
have been hard at work on a handful of different projects and I am very
excited about this year.
That said, here are my usual, deep, thoughts:
I
have to admit that as I have been pursuing this craft over the last few
years, I have allowed myself to slip into that trap of cynicism and
jadedness.
It's
the kind of thing where your ambition becomes twisted and you start to
see more obstacles than opportunities? It's a paralyzing psychology
because you sorta become expectant of rejection. Sometimes, you
actually find yourself seeking out the pain. This process can
eventually lead you to a place where you border on martyrdom and apathy
- Definitely not the best place to work from!
In
fact, I realize now that it is the WORST place to be in ANY
situation/point of your life. Without that feeling of hope/inspiration,
work/life becomes laborsome and can begin to feel meaningless...
